WSU Tri-Cities creates Executive in Residence Program

RICHLAND, Wash. — Bob Popielarczyk has been appointed as campus Executive in Residence at Washington State University Tri-Cities. The Executive in Residence program will provide an opportunity for existing or retired executives to teach and mentor students, and/or assist with research and design projects, while increasing public and private partnerships that will produce highly skilled graduates with job-ready experiences.

The Executive in Residence program will focus on supporting science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields.

Individuals participating in the program will have opportunities to work with students to develop their skillsets within their prospective career choices through mentored projects, advise students on their prospective career choices, work with faculty and students to understand industry needs and challenges, and assist with the delivery of curriculum.

“I am very excited to have this opportunity and look forward to working with the students, WSU Tri-Cities faculty, and the local business community to make this program a success,” said Popielarczyk.

Popielarczyk has more than 35 years experience in design, construction and project management of industrial facilities. Previously, Popielarczyk was employed by CH2MHill as the vice president of the soil and groundwater at the Hanford site.
