PULLMAN, Wash. – Negativity in America toward Japanese- and other Asian-Americans before and after World War II internment will be the focus of a free, public presentation by two history professors at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, in CUE 419 at Washington State University.
Drawing on the experiences of Nisei (second generation) children and their immigrant parents in Territorial Hawai’i and the Western states, Clif Stratton and Kathleen Fry will discuss how institutions including schools, courts and legislatures questioned these citizens’ loyalty and thus citizenship.
