Employees can get flu shots, quit smoking via Wellcoug

wellcougPULLMAN, Wash. – Wellcoug is a new resource to alert employees to wellness events and efforts on Washington State University campuses and communities. This fall, two programs are being highlighted:

Boo-to-fluFlu shots: As part of PEBB medical insurance preventive care coverage, employees can get free flu shots through their healthcare provider, health clinic or covered pharmacy. WSU Pullman faculty and staff can get vaccines at Health and Wellness Services 10 a.m.-3 p.m. every Friday in October.

Tobacco cessation: Classes are offered at no cost to PEBB-enrolled employees and family members through all three WSU employee medical insurance providers. Click on each plan to learn more:

quit-smoking• Quit for Life is available to employees enrolled with Uniform or Group Health.

• Breathe is available to employees enrolled with Kaiser.

Other options are available through the WSU Employee Assistance Program, Health and Wellness Services and College of Nursing.

WSU is a member of Team WorkWell, a group of state agencies and higher-education institutions encouraging and supporting the health and wellness of Washington employees in response to Gov. Jay Inslee’s executive order 13-06 of October 2013.
