Sept. 27: Community invited to discuss impact of dams

PULLMAN, Wash. – A community discussion about breaching dams and a community service cleanup project for students will be part of the Palouse Outdoor Festival on Saturday, Sept. 27, at Wawawai County Park along the Snake River southwest of Pullman.

The events are hosted by the Washington State University Center for Civic Engagement (CCE). The festival is sponsored by the WSU Outdoor Recreation Center (see https://urec.wsu.edu/special-events/palouse-outdoor-festival/).

“Breaching the Issue of Dams” will be debated at noon at the park. Environmental and economic impacts will be discussed. Students and others are invited to register at https://orgsync.com/50701/opportunities/865768/occurrences/1864452.

Cleanup sessions at Granite Point near the park will be at 10:15 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. The CCE will provide free transportation from campus for students. Students can learn more and register at http://cce.wsu.edu/events/eco-adventures/.
