Assistant vice chancellor to focus on community engagement

FincherRICHLAND, Wash. — Ken Fincher has been appointed assistant vice chancellor of development and community engagement at Washington State University Tri-Cities.

“Ken will be instrumental in continuing to grow our campus into a premiere destination for students, faculty, staff and our community,” said Chancellor Keith Moo-Young.

“I look forward to becoming ingrained in the Tri-Cities community where I will be actively promoting the great people and programs of Washington State University Tri-Cities,” Fincher said.

He has served in leadership roles with Boy Scouts of America, American Red Cross, USO, Shorter University (Georgia) and Sears Methodist Retirement System. A certified fundraising executive, he is a frequent presenter at national fundraising conferences.

He earned a doctorate in psychology with an emphasis in organizational leadership and nonprofit management from the University of the Rockies. He holds a B.S. in social science from Shorter University and a master’s in philanthropy and development from St. Mary’s University (Minnesota).
