public-square-logoPULLMAN, Wash. – According to the U.S. Constitution, Americans have the right to free speech; but how far does that right extend?

Students, faculty, staff and community members will discuss free speech zones at the Public Square event at noon Tuesday, Sept. 16, on Glenn Terrell Mall at Washington State University.

Discussion will include:

* Most universities have designated free speech zones. Do those impact the ability to express opinions?

* On most campuses, protesters must give advance notice of demonstrations so classes are not disrupted. Is this free speech?
