PULLMAN, Wash. – A variety of community service projects will be facilitated through Washington State University on Thursday, Sept. 11, in honor of the 9/11 National Day of Service and Remembrance. The day commemorates victims, survivors and service personnel who responded to the terrorist attacks on New York and Washington, D.C., on Sept. 11, 2001.
Students and employees are invited to participate in events hosted by the WSU Center for Civic Engagement:
9:30 a.m.-1 p.m.: Collect donations for Harvest House thrift store, where they will be sorted and sold as part of a training program for adults with disabilities.
1-3 p.m.: Visit Whitman Senior Living to socialize with residents and give manicures.
3:10-5:30 p.m.: At the Palouse Library, mentor children, help them with homework and enjoy fun activities.

The CCE is looking for a student group to help Whitman Senior Living host a spaghetti benefit dinner 4:30-8 p.m. Proceeds will support the Pullman Fire Department. Complete the group request form at http://cce.wsu.edu/911.
