PULLMAN, Wash. – Employees in qualifying Washington companies can apply to earn certificates online and take advantage of $750,000 in scholarship funds recently awarded to Washington State University.
The funds to WSU’s Global Campus engineering and technology management (ETM) program come through the Make it in Washington (MiiW) public-private partnership initiative, http://www.etm.wsu.edu/Miia/MiiA.ETM.html.
“Our ETM program will provide the necessary education and training to help employees advance in their careers and assist their companies in acquiring the attributes they need to grow and be more competitive,” said ETM Director John Ringo.
Eligible employees will receive scholarships for ETM online graduate and undergraduate certificates. Applications are being accepted from employees at qualifying companies for WSU’s spring 2015 semester.
Make it in Washington is a three-year federal grant targeting manufacturers in qualified counties in order to provide advanced education to employees, increase manufacturing capacity, strengthen supply chains, attract investment and create new opportunities for manufacturers and individuals.
The initiative is a partnership of state organizations that include the Innovate Washington Foundation, Washington Department of Commerce, Impact Washington, Workforce Training and Education Coordinating Board, WSU’s engineering and technology management program, Highline College and Shoreline Community College.
