Sept. 11: Golf tournament supports student clubs

golf ballPULLMAN, Wash. – The Harold Sorensen Memorial Golf Tournament will be Thursday, Sept. 11, at the Palouse Ridge Golf Course at Washington State University. Check-in begins at 12:30 p.m. with a shotgun start at 1:30 p.m. The deadline to register is Aug. 29.

The event is hosted by the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Proceeds support club activities for WSU’s American Society of Civil Engineers (http://asce.ce.wsu.edu/) and Associated Students of Construction Management (http://sdc.wsu.edu/construction-management/cm-clubs/).

Sorensen was a popular professor, avid golfer and supporter of students. In his honor, the annual Harold Sorensen Golf Tournament has been held for many years with participation from alumni, faculty, staff and civil engineering and construction management students. With his passing last year, the tournament has been renamed.

The entry fee is $100/person or $400/foursome, which includes greens fees, golf cart, prizes, BBQ dinner and awards ceremony. Registration information is available at http://www.cea.wsu.edu/content/RegistrationForm.pdf.
