Nation’s undergraduates research science, engineering

undergrad-research-175PULLMAN, Wash. – Energy-efficient computers, climate change and renewable energy are just a few of the projects being researched by 59 students from colleges nationwide at Washington State University this summer.

Funded by the National Science Foundation, the U.S. Department of Agriculture and individual departments and grants, the eight faculty-led programs involve STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) research.

The students’ home schools include Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, New York University, Tufts University, Penn State University, Gonzaga University, University of Arizona, Bellevue Community College, WSU and more.

The students’ work will be disseminated publicly at the annual WSU Summer Undergraduate Research Poster Symposium 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1, in the Smith CUE atrium.
