WSU hazardous materials release all clear

PULLMAN, Wash. –  At approximately 4:26 p.m. on Wednesday the Office of Emergency Management was notified of a reported hazardous materials release near Sloan Hall and issued a CougAlert emergency notification message using multiple methods to reach those who had signed up to receive such messages.

WSU Police, Pullman Fire and the WSU Office of Environmental Health and Safety responded to the scene, with other WSU units providing support.

The release was determined to be limited to the space between Dana Hall, Sloan Hall and the Engineering Teaching Research Laboratory (ETRL).  A follow-up message was issued at approximately 5:07pm.

The situation – which involved two injuries – was resolved at approximately 5:45pm, and an all clear message was sent using the CougAlert system.
