April 23: Finance expert shares investing tips

Weeks-80PULLMAN, Wash. – Bryan Weeks, president and chief executive officer of Silver Creek Capital Management, will present “Evolution of Hedge Fund Investing and Institutional Investor’s Asset Allocation,” a free, public talk, at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, in Todd Hall 130, Washington State University. A 5 p.m. reception will be in the first-floor atrium.

Silver Creek is an alternative investments group that manages hedge fund and private credit portfolios with assets over $5.5 billion. Weeks is responsible for business leadership and strategy.

Prior to joining Silver Creek, he spent 12 years at Russell Investments as managing director of institutional investment services and president of Russell capital. He led management of the United States institutional investment business. Globally, he was a member of Russell’s institutional executive committee.

Weeks earned his bachelor’s degree in finance from WSU and is chair of the College of Business International Advisory Board and a member of the executive committee of the National Advisory Board. He is a board member of Slalom Consulting – a leading national technologies services firm – and Northern Lights Capital Group – a global private equity firm investing in asset management businesses. He holds the chartered financial analyst (CFA) designation from the CFA Institute, a global, nonprofit organization of investment professionals from more than 100 countries worldwide.

The lecture is hosted by the College of Business’ Department of Finance and Management Science and sponsored by the Gary P. Brinson Chair of Investment Management and the Omer L. Carey Endowed Chair in Financial Education.
