The Ferndale High School group will perform “Tambur” arranged by Lajos Bardos and “Dance Today with Joy” by Northwest composer Vijay Singh.
The WSU Madrigal Chamber Singers, conducted by Lori Wiest, will perform pairings of English madrigals of the Renaissance with English popular tunes of today, including “Blackbird” and “You’ve Got to Hide Your Love Away” by the Beatles.
The University Singers, conducted by Dean Luethi and accompanied by Steven Damouni, will perform Ed Lojeski’s “Medley from Les Misérables.” This compilation of songs includes “At the End of the Day,” “I Dreamed a Dream,” “Castle on a Cloud,” “Do You Hear the People Sing?” “On My Own” and “Bring Him Home.”
The WSU Concert Choir, conducted by Lori Wiest and accompanied by graduate student Alberto Ferro, will conclude the program with “Unicornis Captivator” by jazz pianist and composer Ola Gjeilo, “Der Abend” and “Nächtens” by Johannes Brahms, “Dawn” by Eric William Barnum and selections featuring the men and the women of the choir. The concert’s closer will be Edwin Fissinger’s vibrant setting of “Joshua Fit the Battle of Jericho.”
