Spokesman-Review – Washington State University officials want to launch the state’s second public medical school in Spokane.

Bellevue Business Journal – “This is a holy grail of sorts,’’ said Uma Jayaram, associate professor in WSU’s School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering. Jayaram and her husband, S. Jay Jayaram, also a WSU professor, are co-founders with two others of the Pullman-based virtual reality and engineering company 3D-4U.

Discovery News – Video games can be educational — for computers. Researchers at Washington State University developed an algorithm that helps computers learn and teach each other by playing Pac-Man, an iconic video game that has eaten up the spare time of gamers since the 1980s.
