April 26: Faculty give TEDx talks at WSU

TED-talks-160PULLMAN, Wash. – Fifteen faculty will give 15-minute speeches on the theme, “Seeds for Tomorrow: Sharing ideas and experiences and sparking innovation” during a TEDx event at Washington State University.

“This is a special opportunity to inspire collaboration and community on our campus as well as make WSU stand out as a school full of new ideas, research and innovation,” said Vi Tran, a bioengineering major who is the lead organizer of the event.

TEDxWSU will be 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, April 26, in the CUB auditorium. The event will be accessible online via videostreaming. Only 90 tickets will be sold for $10 or $25, with a T-shirt. Tickets sales and videostreaming will be available at http://www.TEDxWSU.org. Tickets will be limited to two per person.

TEDx is designed to help communities, organizations and individuals spark conversation and connection through local TED-like experiences. TED started in 1984 as a conference for technology, entertainment and design convergence. Today TED fosters idea sharing from a broad spectrum: science to business to global issues.
