April 11, 12: Strauss operetta performed for Mom’s Weekend

Die-Fledermaus-Poster-250PULLMAN, Wash. – The lighthearted operetta “Die Fledermaus” by Johann Strauss will be performed with full orchestra for Mom’s Weekend at Washington State University at 8 p.m. Friday, April 11, and 2 p.m. Saturday, April 12, in Bryan Hall.

Music and laughter wind through the tale of a philandering husband trapped by his best friend and caught by his wife at a magnificent Viennese ball.

Tickets cost $10 for general admission and $5 for students and seniors 60 and older. Tickets will be available in the Kimbrough Music Building lobby 10 a.m.-2 p.m. April 9-11 or at the door 1½ hours before each performance.

The production is presented by the WSU School of Music under the direction of Julie Anne Wieck with orchestra conducted by Matthew Aubin.
