BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Washington State University Extension will offer the Forest Stewardship Coached Planning course 6-9 p.m. Thursdays, March 13-May 1 at the Rome Grange, 2821 Mt. Baker Hwy., Bellingham, Wash.
The class is designed for a variety of forest landowners, from those who have just a few acres of woods to those with large forest tracts.
Participants will develop a personalized forest stewardship plan that qualifying landowners can use to lower their property taxes.
The fee is $195 per individual or couple and includes eight evening class sessions, a Saturday field trip, reference materials and how-to guides, and a visit to each participant’s property by a professional forester.

The class will teach essential skills for caring for wooded property, including how to:
Assess tree health, age and suitability
Avoid insect and disease problems
Enhance wildlife habitat
Get a fair deal when selling logs
Take practical steps to maintain woods to provide enjoyment for years to come.
