Feb. 20: Free concert features orchestral favorites

orchestra-solo-200PULLMAN, Wash. – A potpourri of orchestral favorites will be performed by the Washington State University Symphony Orchestra in a free, public concert at 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, in Bryan Hall.

orchestra-400The evening will open with the “Billy the Kid Suite” by Aaron Copland. The overture to the opera “Die Fledermaus,” by Johann Strauss, will follow, conducted by graduate student Rachael Kone. The concert will conclude with an early work by Jean Sibelius, the “Karelia Suite.”
