Bee aware: Hive, honey tasting, displays visit WSU

PULLMAN, Wash. – A “Bee Care Tour” by international Bayer chemical company kicked off at Washington State University Thursday with educational displays and presentations for the public, researchers, farmers and beekeepers.

bees-speaker-200The purpose is to further understanding of bees’ important role in the food supply and to discuss issues confronting the health of bees and bee colonies. WSU faculty participated in a panel discussion.

The tour will continue through March, traveling to some of the nation’s top agriculture universities and farm communities, and will be in Washington, D.C. in June.
