WSU data center flood update

PULLMAN, Wash. – Information Services staff worked throughout the night Wednesday restoring most of the critical university enterprise systems affected by the flood which occurred in the WSU data center on lower floor of the IT Building.

Although many systems are now operational,  it should be noted that there are still areas where restoration is ongoing.  Even those portions of the system which have been restored may be slow to respond or may require additional work to ensure full restoration.

It should be understood, however, that water and water damage continues to be encountered, creating an ongoing potential for additional system failures.

As of this morning :

  • Zzusis is operational, however some links and information may be missing and the site may look different until additional web services are fully restored.
  • Angel is operational.
  • Student email, Office 365 is operational. Should it subsequently become unavailable, students will still be able to login and access their email via https://login.microsoftonline.com.
  • Exchange based email, while operational, may prove slow in routing email to recipients.
  • Videoconferencing is fully operational.
  • Business Objects has yet to be restored and there is, as yet, no estimate of when that restoration will occur.
  • VoIP phone system is operational; however a few pockets of issues have been identified and are still being worked on.
