WSU regents to take action on capital project construction

SPOKANE, Wash. – The Board of Regents of Washington State University will be asked to authorize capital construction expenditures – the largest $10 million for land acquisition, design and preconstruction for a classroom and office building at North Puget Sound at Everett – when it meets in regular session on the WSU Spokane campus Thursday and Friday.

The meeting will begin with committee agendas at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, in the Nursing Building 205. The board meeting will continue there at 8 a.m. Friday, Nov. 22.

Funding for design and preconstruction of the 95,000-square-foot facility in Everett, which will primarily support programs in science, technology, engineering and math, was appropriated by the state Legislature earlier this year. The structure will be on the Everett Community College campus.

Other action items on the regent’s agenda include:

  • $2.4 million for design and construction of improvements to the lower soccer field at WSU Pullman. Among the improvements to the women’s soccer home field will be a drainage system, turf, lighting and improved communications required for television broadcasting.
  • $2.1 million for design and construction of the Agricultural Technology Building Addition at WSU Prosser.
  • $2.79 million for construction of the Viticulture Building Addition at WSU Prosser.
  • $1.65 million for design and construction of the Johnson Annex Renovation at WSU Pullman.
  • $1.6 million for Johnson Hall Roof Replacement at WSU Pullman.
  • $2.02 million for design and preconstruction of the Troy Hall Renovation at WSU Pullman.
