Nov. 19: Juilliard faculty member performs piano solo recital

McDonald-175PULLMAN, Wash. – Award-winning, world-touring pianist Robert McDonald, a faculty member at New York’s Juilliard School, will perform a solo recital at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, in Bryan Hall at Washington State University.

Tickets will be available in the lobby 30 minutes before the concert starts. Tickets cost $10 general admission, $5 non-WSU students and those 60 and older; and free for WSU students with ID.

McDonald is the Penelope Watkins chair in piano studies at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia. His prizes include the gold medal at the Busoni International Piano Competition, the top prize at the William Kapell International Competition and the Deutsche Schallplatten Critics Award.

He has appeared with major orchestras in the United States and was the recital partner for many years to Isaac Stern and other distinguished instrumentalists. His discography includes recordings for Sony Classical, Bridge, Vox, Musical Heritage Society, ASV and CRI.

He tours throughout the United States, Europe, Asia and South America.
