PULLMAN, Wash. – “All the Ways I Was Wrong in College, and How Glad I Am I Was” will be presented at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, in Stephenson residence hall’s Down Under by Melynda Huskey, dean of students. It is part of Washington State University’s free, public Common Reading Tuesdays series.
“Since this year’s common reading book, ‘Being Wrong’ by Kathryn Schulz, is about resiliency and learning from mistakes, it seems important to directly address these issues as they occur in the lives of our students,” said Karen Weathermon, co-director of the common reading program.
“Messing up liberated me from my own expectations, and I had to change a lot of my ideas about myself and the world,” Huskey said.
“I am very fortunate that in my current position I can speak from my experience and help students become resilient and seek resources at WSU to overcome what seems like an insurmountable catastrophe,” she said.
The common reading is in its seventh year. Faculty, staff and external experts make presentations about subjects related to the book. Author Kathryn Schulz will visit on Feb. 24.
