Molly-Seaburg-80PULLMAN, Wash. – Molly Seaburg, Microsoft’s senior risk manager, will deliver the 21st annual Walton Lecture at 4:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14, in Todd 130 at Washington State University. The lecture is free to the public.

Seaburg oversees risk management for Microsoft’s worldwide sales and marketing services groups and international subsidiaries. Her talk will focus on the diverse risks Microsoft must manage and financing losses from these perils. She will share insights gained from her position managing third-party insurance programs, the captive insurance company and worldwide contracts and certificates.

Seaburg’s 20-year career at Microsoft includes risk management services for the product and services groups, including hardware, software and research and development teams. She has expertise in computer programming and business applications, was a board member of the Washington chapter of the Risk Management Society (RIMS) and is a sought after speaker at RIMS functions.

Each fall semester, the Walton Lecture brings a distinguished leader in the insurance and risk management field to campus to share professional perspectives with students. The lecture is hosted by the WSU College of Business’ Department of Finance and Management Science and made possible through an endowment from the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of Washington. The endowment honors Max Walton, the group’s past-president.
