RICHLAND, Wash. —Northwest Public Television next week will spearhead a public forum to discuss sex trafficking in the Tri-Cities. Partners in the effort are the producers of a new documentary, Here? Sex Trafficking in Our Community, and a variety of experts and representatives from community agencies who are engaged in this issue.
The public forum airs live October 2nd, at 7:30 pm on KTNW and KWSU. It follows the broadcast of Sex Trafficking, produced by Betty Adams and Susan Bauer, which airs at 7:00 P.M.
During the public forum, viewers are invited to call and ask questions of the representatives who will be in the Northwest Public TV studio in Richland. Phone lines will be open an additional hour after the program to take calls and give further information and referrals. The number to call is 800-922-4220.
Agencies working on this issue include the Kennewick Police Department, the Richland Police Department, the Tri-Cities Coalition Against Trafficking, the Union Gospel Mission, the Soroptimist Task Force, gang outreaches, mental health advocates, area school districts and prosecuting attorneys.
