Faculty Artist Series: ‘The oboe in its natural habitat’

PULLMAN, Wash. – WSU faculty members Keri McCarthy and Karen Savage will perform solo works for the oboe and piano 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, in Bryan Hall Theatre.

Together McCarthy and Savage will explore musical pieces from the Baroque, Romantic, and 20th centuries. The concert will feature Carl Nielsen’s spritely Fantasie Pieces; Francis Poulenc’s soulful Sonata; Alessandro Marcello’s Concerto in C minor; and Paul Hindermith’s expansive sonate.

Tickets will be available at the door. Free admission for WSU students with ID, $10 general admission, and $5 for seniors and non-WSU students. Proceeds benefit WSU School of Music Scholarship Fund.
