Auvil Scholars Fellowships deadline extended

PULLMAN, Wash. – The deadline for applications for this year’s $1,000 Auvil Scholars Fellowships for undergraduate researchers at Washington State University has been extended to midnight Monday, Sept. 23. This extends the original deadline by one week.

Awarded annually since 2006, the Auvil Scholars Fellowships have supported hundreds of students engaged in “research, scholarship, and creative activity” who are working with a mentoring faculty member.

Applicants this year can be prospective or novice researchers, or experienced. They can be from all disciplines, all grades, and all campuses. However, preference will be given to applicants who have never received an Auvil award in the past.

Recipients of each Auvil award are expected to participate in the spring Showcase for Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities (SURCA), hosted by the Office of Undergraduate Research, part of the Office of Undergraduate Education.
Information about the Auvil Scholars Fellowships, FAQs, and the link to the application are at http://auvilscholars.wsu.edu.

Funding for the awards comes from an estate gift from Grady and Lillie Auvil, Wenatchee tree fruit entrepreneurs.
