Les Schwab Tire CEO featured speaker at Power Breakfast

PULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State University’s College of Business will hold its next Power Breakfast in Seattle on Sept. 27, featuring guest speaker Dick Borgman, chairman and CEO of Les Schwab Tire Centers.

Borgman’s speech is titled “Hometown Customer Service in a Global Industry.”

The breakfast is designed to inform, inspire and engage Seattle-area business leaders on contemporary business issues and is scheduled for 7:30-9 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27, at the Seattle Marriott Waterfront.

Participants may register for $40 online at http://cbpowerbreakfast.wsu.edu until 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24.

Borgman directs Les Schwab’s 445 stores in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, California, Nevada, Utah and Colorado. He oversees approximately 6,600 employees and annual revenues of $1.4 billion.

Borgman holds degrees in economics and law from Willamette University. He joined Les Schwab as general counsel in 1990 after spending 10 years as a partner in a business law firm. In 2002, following several years of various management assignments at Les Schwab Tire Centers, Borgman became senior executive vice president of administration with responsibility for finance, real estate, information technology, tax, human resources, general administration and corporate planning.

In 2006, Borgman was appointed president of the Les Schwab Holding Company Division. He was the first person other than the company founder to hold that position. Borgman’s responsibilities include leading the company through its continued growth and expansion and extending the company’s reputation for outstanding customer service.
