New honor society inducts inaugural group of students

PULLMAN, Wash. – The state’s first and only chapter of a national honor society for college students with disabilities will hold its inaugural event – a member initiation and reception – 5-6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, in Honors Hall Lounge (Room 110) at Washington State University.
 
The Disability Awareness Association, a student organization, has been responsible for establishing the Beta Tau chapter of the Delta Alpha Pi national honor society at WSU, said Meredyth Goodwin, director of the WSU Access Center. Faculty advisors are Sara Ann Hones for DAA and Sheri Bain for Delta Alpha Pi.
 
Students selected to the society have earned a 3.1 or higher cumulative GPA and have completed 24 credits as an undergraduate or 18 credits as a graduate student.
