Faculty author to discuss, sign book about homeless women

 
PULLMAN, Wash. – The dangers of homelessness, as well as the outlooks and spiritual lives of homeless people, will be discussed by Desiree Hellegers, Washington State University Vancouver associate professor of English, at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, in Butch’s Den (CUB L60) at WSU Pullman. It is part of WSU’s observance of National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week Nov. 10-16.
 

Hellegers is the author of “No Room of Her Own: Women’s Stories of Homelessness, Life, Death and Resistance” (Palgrave Macmillan, 2011), a collection of stories of 15 women compiled from two decades of interviews within the Seattle homeless community. She will hold a book signing at 3:30 p.m. Copies of her book will be for sale at 1:30 p.m.
