Important message about the delivery and storage of compressed gas cylinders!

Environmental Health and Safety recently conducted a code review of the storage requirements for compressed gas cylinders. Code does not permit the storage of compressed gas cylinders (empty or full) in egress areas. Cylinders are to be stored in the upright position with the valve end upward. Assigned storage spaces shall be located where cylinders will not be knocked over or damaged by passing or falling objects, or subject to tampering by unauthorized persons.

Starting immediately, when compressed gas cylinders are scheduled for delivery, all delivery locations need to be accessible. If delivery locations are not available during a scheduled delivery, the gas cylinder will be returned to University Stores and delivered at a later scheduled date and a $70 re-delivery fee will accrue. Scheduled compressed gas deliveries will be Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.

University Stores strives to ensure the safe delivery and storage of compressed gas cylinders. If you have questions about the delivery of compressed gas cylinders, contact Wade Brantner at 335-3782.
