July musical: ‘I love you, you’re perfect, now change’

PULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State University School of Music is presenting its 11th summer musical production, “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change,” with script and lyrics by Joe DiPietro and music by Jimmy Roberts.
This celebration of the mating game takes on the truths and myths behind that contemporary conundrum know as “the relationship.”
Act I explores the journey from dating and waiting to love and marriage, while Act II reveals the agonies and triumphs of in-laws and newborns, trips in the family car and pick-up techniques of the geriatric set.
This hilarious revue pays tribute to those who have loved and lost, to those who have fallen on their face at the portal of romance, to those who have dared to ask, “Say, what are you doing Saturday night?”
Directed by Julie Anne Wieck, associate professor of music, the cast consists of six WSU students: Sami Cottam, Alyssa Erickson, Hillary Bellish, Anjuli Dodhia, Glen Milligan and Kyle Ross.  They are accompanied on piano by Kana Ishii, a recent graduate of the School of Music masters program.

Past productions have included Forbidden Broadway, Shout!, Gershwin Revue, Little Shop of Horrors, Baby, and Nunsensations.
The summer production is partially funded by Summer Session and the Student Entertainment Board.
The performances will be in Bryan Hall Theatre at 8 p.m. on July 20, 21, 27, and 28. Ticket prices are $10 for general admission and $5 for students and senior citizens. They will be available at the door, one hour before each performance.
