Task force seeks input on proposed parking changes

PULLMAN, Wash. – The Washington State University Parking and Transportation Task Force is inviting public comment through March 2 on several proposed parking zone changes that, if implemented, will take effect at the start of the fall 2012 semester.

The university community can review the proposed changes and submit comments at the WSU Parking website

Bridgette Brady, director of parking services, said the proposed changes are intended to address various parking management needs.

The largest proposed change involves converting general Blue 1 permit parking in the lot east of Beasley Coliseum to residential Gray 1. This is to accommodate students living in residence halls whose parking will be displaced by construction of the Northside Residence Hall.

Other proposed zone changes involve: reallocating some Green 1 areas to Green 3 to better manage permit allocation; changing some yellow areas to green; and making some meter parking into a green zone because the meters are not being used.
