Sax player joins WSU faculty to perform swinging jazz

PULLMAN, Wash. – Jazz saxophonist and Northwest legend Warren Rand will perform the music of Tadd Dameron in a free, public concert with Washington State University faculty at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17, in Kimbrough Hall at WSU.

Rand has performed worldwide with top musicians, including Robert Cray, Allen Jones, Mel Brown and Nancy King.

Dameron wrote many pieces that became jazz standards, such as “Ladybird.”  His music is lyrical, accessible and, above all, swinging.

WSU faculty joining Rand will be Dave Snider, Brian Ward and Dave Jarvis.
