WSU to present scenes from two classic operas

PULLMAN, Wash. – The Washington State University Opera Workshop will present scenes from 19th century operas at a free, public performance 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, in Bryan Hall Theatre.
 
The cast of 18 will perform pieces from “La Cenerentola” by Gioacchino Rossini, which is based on the story of Cinderella, and “Falstaff” by Giuseppe Verdi, which is based on the Shakespeare character.
 
The group is directed by Julie Anne Wieck, associate professor of music, and will be accompanied by Karen Savage, assistant professor of music.
