Legal Issues in Diversity Recruiting Webinar

Join the CACD and attend a National Association of Colleges & Employers (NACE) webinar from 10 to 11 a.m., Oct. 20, in CUE 518.  The webinar is free to participants, however registration is required at: https://wsu-csm.symplicity.com/events/F2011nace.

Attorney Edward Easterly, a specialist in employment law, will help us examine the laws related to EEO and nondiscrimination, ADAA, and IRCA. You’ll learn how Title VII and ADEA affect minority-only programs and how the ADAA affects job postings, reference checks, and testing, and what accommodations are required.

University staff will learn how to advise students and alumni who think they were discriminated against in the recruitment process, and find out about their liability related to posting jobs or prescreening for “minority-only” candidates.

Sherry Gordon, Assistant Attorney General with WSU’s Attorney General Office, will discuss the differences between Washington law and the federal law information being presented by Attorney Edward Easterly.
