Learn about safely travelling in the backcountry at the Avalanche Level I course on November 5. This two weekend course is sponsored by the National Ski Patrol and will teach participants about important safety information involving avalanches. The first weekend is the lecture course and takes place on November 5 in the Student Recreation Center, and the outdoor course at Silver Mountain Ski Resort in Kellogg, Idaho will take place January 7 and 8. Class participants must be able to ski/snowboard competently to move about the mountain on groomed and ungroomed runs. The cost of the trip is $99 for Student Recreation Center members, $125 for non-members and registration closes on October 19.
