Chinese paintings on exhibit in CUB gallery

PULLMAN, Wash. – The Washington State University Student Entertainment Board and the Department of Foreign Languages and Cultures are cosponsoring an exhibit of Chinese paintings by artist Yang Xu.
 
The paintings are featured in the Compton Union Building gallery until Oct. 16 and are in the style of the Song Dynasty.
Xu was trained by the famous Chinese artist Xinming Yue. Xu’s paintings are traditional watercolor and calligraphy. Some of her artwork includes, “A Cynic’s Journey,” “The Life-giving Waters of Spring” and “Intimacy on a Mountain Path.”
 
A live demonstration of her painting will be held 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, in the Honors Hall Lounge.
