Association recognizes outstanding advisors

PULLMAN, Wash. – Nominations are due by Friday, Sept. 30, for outstanding faculty and professional advisor awards to be presented by the Washington State University Academic Advising Association (ACADA).
 
WSU ACADA’s goal is to increase advising effectiveness through strengthening communication on advising issues.
 
Nominees are separated into two categories based on the length of their advising careers. Each category has three awards:
• Advisors whose primary role is advising
• Faculty who spend a portion of their time advising
• Administrators or directors who spend a portion of their time advising. This award is for those who have advised for three or more years.
 
Any WSU employee may be nominated. A 1-2 page letter of nomination must address the individual’s merits as an advisor and include his/her name, college, department and contact information. Letters can be sent to Karla Makus, WSU ACADA Awards Committee, makusk@wsu.edu.
