Professor tours Europe with award winning brass band

 
 
PULLMAN, Wash. – WSU School of Music trumpet professor David Turnbull and graduate teaching assistant Chris Wurst toured Europe this summer with the Kansas City based Fountain City Brass Band. The group is the top British style brass band in the U.S., having won the North American Brass Band Championships four years in a row.
 
During May and June, the group performed in France, Belgium and the Netherlands. In the U.K., the band received fourth place in the City of Cambridge Cup competition.
 
Turnbull is the coordinator of brass and percussion in the WSU School of Music and is chair elect of the Faculty Senate.
