Golf tournament raises record amount for WSU scholarships

PULLMAN, Wash. – Records were set for number of golfers and for money raised at the recent annual tournament to support Facilities Operations scholarships at Washington State University.

Players numbered 95, up from 68 last year. And just under $13,000 was raised, up from just under $10,000 last year.

“This tournament has been successful beyond our wildest imagination because of the support we have received from our sponsors, contributors and participants,” said Ev Davis, assistant vice president of FacOps. “We are very excited for what this success will allow our scholarship committee to do for current and future WSU students, and we look forward to next year’s tournament already.”

This year’s Jess Ford of Pullman Hardhat Classic also was the most fun, said participant and FacOps information systems manager Den Bowker: “They get better every year.”

“We get a lot of repeat players” because they have such a good time, said Lorrie Arrasmith, FacOps principal assistant and tournament planning committee member.
