Landowners come together to learn

CHIMACUM, Wash. – The Family Forest Owners’ Field Day will be from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 20 at the Palmer Family Tree Farm outside of Chimacum, Wash.
 
This event is being held within easy driving or ferry distance of Jefferson, Clallam, Kitsap, Mason, Whidbey, and Snohomish counties.
 
Led by a recognized expert in multiple forest stewardship disciplines, this field day is designed to provide useful, timely and unbiased information designed to meet the needs of landowners with five or 500 acres. This event also prepares landowners to plan and execute management activities that meet their personal objectives, reduce risks and protect their financial investment.
 
The fee for those who register by August 12 is $20 for an individual and $30 for families of two or more. After August 12 the fee is $30 for an individual, $40 for families. An optional barbecue lunch will also be available for $10 per person. Lunch reservations must be made by August 16.  
 
During the event participants can choose from a wide variety of classes and activities taught by specialists in forest health, wildlife habitat, weed control, wildfire protection, and more. Youth activities will also be available.
