Blues Brothers featured at Dad’s Weekend

PULLMAN, Wash. -The Blues Brothers, with Dan Aykroyd, Jim Belushi and the Sacred Hearts band, will be the featured performance 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, at Beasley Coliseum, for Dad’s Weekend.
 
Tickets will go on sale 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 29, and cost $54.50. There is a $5 discount offered to WSU staff, faculty and students.
 
The Blues Brothers act is based on a Saturday Night Live skit performed by Akyroyd and John Belushi. The pair played brothers Jake and Elwood Blues in the movie the Blues Brothers (video clip). After the death of John, his brother Jim took over and the pair continue to perform across the country.
 
Belushi performs with the Sacred Hearts band regularly, including a performance for Mom’s Weekend in 2004 at WSU. Akyroyd is a founding member of the House of Blues and launched a website which promotes and preserves blues music.
