Restoration Project at Animal Haven

The Palouse Conservation District is hosting a landscaping volunteer event on Saturday, July 9th, from 9 AM to noon at Animal Haven (Whitman County Humane Society). The goal is to begin preparing the area for a fall native and perennial grass seeding to prevent future weed invasion. Students, faculty, staff and community members are welcome to participate in this service project. Volunteers will be mowing, weed-whacking, raking, and hand-pulling weeds. Please bring water and sunscreen. Gardening gloves and tools will be provided. WSU students are asked to register for this project on SLPro, and a link for this site can be found at http://cce.wsu.edu/students. For further information, please contact John Celley at 509-332-4101.
