Although Canada Post has suspended mail service nation-wide effective immediately, the United States Postal Service will accept and hold mail destined to Canada. It is anticipated that the Canadian government will vote on legislation early next week that will restore mail service.
In the meantime, customers may send letters and packages using Global Express Guaranteed (GXG) service. This premium service, designed for critical time sensitive items, begins at $35.50 for a half ounce letter and allows packages up to 70 pounds.
