Star Party Saturday!

Enjoy excellent views of Saturn this Saturday at the Jewett Observatory Star Party. Astronomers and star buffs will be on site to answer your questions, explain star charts, and help operate the large Jewett refracting telescope, as well as the newer telescopes available on site for your star viewing.

This is a great educational event for the entire family, and we have an excellent forecast. After days of rainy weather, Saturday is supposed to have clear skies. (Whoo-hoo! But, be sure to dress warmly, anyway.) Viewing will begin about 9:30 pm due to the rapid approach of the Summer Solstice (June 21) and lengthening daylight hours.

This event is co-sponsored by the Department of Physics and Astronomy and the Palouse Astronomical Society. Directions to the observatory and seasonal star information can be found on the Web at: http://astro.wsu.edu/observatory.html
