FY2012 Procurement Initiative for Office Supplies – The Master Contract

Single Source – Super Savings

There are hundreds of ways to save on office supplies when buying from a master contract.   WSU’s master contract for office supplies is the Office Depot Washington State Contract #09205.  This contract offers deeply discounted pricing on a dynamic list of 1500 commonly used products, competitive discounts on 30,000 other items, up to 3% additional discount on large orders, next day delivery, free shipping and excellent customer support.
On July 1, 2011, Office Depot will be designated the exclusive provider of office supplies for all WSU units.  Central Stores will no longer process special orders for this commodity.  The inventory of stocked office supplies at Central Stores will gradually be exhausted over time.  Central Stores will instead focus on providing other, more critical products and services.  Direct purchasing and leveraging this segment of University purchasing power is expected to generate savings of at least $200,000 in the coming fiscal year.
 
Many units are already familiar with the value of Contract #09205, but could realize even greater savings.  Watch for roll-out events and campus announcements in July and August that will highlight contract savings opportunities.

FY2012 Procurement Initiative for Office Supplies – Special Notes to Pullman Campus Units

Units presently ordering office supplies in stock at Central Stores are encouraged to do so until the inventory of those items is exhausted.
All units at the Pullman campus are encouraged to order paper for copiers and printers from Central Stores until existing stock is exhausted.  The product codes are:
55484    paper, white, 8.5×11, 100% recycled content
50784    paper, white, 8.5×11, 40% recycled content
