Vancouver wins second in regional sales contest

 
 
VANCOUVER, Wash. – A team of students from the professional sales program at Washington State University Vancouver won second place overall recenty in the 2011 Western States Collegiate Sales Competition at California State University, Chico.
 
This was the first year WSU Vancouver competed. It was the sixth year for coach Ron Pimentel, clinical assistant professor of marketing and associate director of the professional sales program.
 
Seven teams competed. The competition consisted of two parts: individual sales presentation role plays and a team-selling situation.
 
Team member Yan Doroshkin won first place for the individual competition. WSU Vancouver won second place in the team competition. Other team members are Samantha Goelze, Veronika Ovdiyenko and John Won.
 
Judging was done by members of the professional sales industry from sponsoring companies: ADP, TEKsystems, Pepsico, First Command, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Federated Insurance and BMC Software.
