Panel discussions, film, mosque tour planned

PULLMAN – A series of events sponsored by the WSU Muslim Student Association will celebrate Islamic Awareness Week March 7-11.
 
On Tuesday, there will be a panel discussion of ideas presented in Monday night’s lecture starting at 5:30 p.m. in CUE 203. Panel members will include Dirks; Guled Omar, Muslim Student Association president; Robert Eddy, WSU professor of English; and Sabrina Zearott, alumna of Harvard University.
 
“The Message,” starring Anthony Quinn and Irene Papas, will be presented at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in Kimbrough 101. It chronicles the life of the prophet Mohammed and the first Muslims.
 
A second panel discussion is planned for 4:30 p.m. Thursday in Kimbrough 101. It will focus on women in Islam and will feature Zearot; student Eileen Eddy; and Fatma Elzahraa Abdel Aziz, community member.
On Friday 1-2 p.m. visitors are welcome to tour the Pullman mosque at 1155 NE Stadium Way and enjoy food from the Middle East.
