NEW ZEALAND – A devastating earthquake, measuring 6.3 magnitude, rocked Christchurch, New Zealand today, devastating parts of that city.
Washington State University has three students studying in the Christchurch region – two at Lincoln University and one at the University of Canterbury. Candace Chenoweth, director of the Education Abroad program, this morning confirmed that all three WSU students are safe.
This is the second major earthquake in the Christchurch area in less than six months. A 7.4 earthquake hit the area on Sept. 3, 2010.
